A Fusion of Culture
The Malabar Coast has long been shaped by food, from ancient spice ports along the Arabian Sea to the hills of the Western Ghats where pepper, cardamom, and tea thrive.
For centuries, traders from Arabia, Europe, and across Asia arrived here, bringing cultures and culinary influences that blended into the rich identity of Malabar.
At its heart is Malabar cuisine, a vibrant expression of Southern Indian and coastal Indian food. Defined by coconut, fresh seafood, fragrant rice, and bold spices, it reflects both the sea and the land.
From spice-rich biryanis and soft pathiri to coastal curries and slow-cooked dishes, every plate carries the legacy of trade, tradition, and cultural exchange.
This is the taste of Southern India’s coastal heritage, rich, aromatic, and timeless.

Grounded in the coast.
Dark teak, aged brass, cane, lime plaster, linen and laterite tones bring Kerala's textures into a contemporary Scottish dining room.
The flavours
that lead us.

Pepper, coconut, sea.
Seafood cooked with curry leaf, kokum and the deep warmth of Malabar black pepper.

Spice with patience.
Slow braises, toasted masala and smoke, layered for depth, never heat for its own sake.

A sweet crossing.
Desserts inspired by the ports and people linked by the old spice route.

At the heart of Malabar
Hospitality is not a gesture.
It is a way of life.
The past,
served today.
Coastal Kerala has always looked outward. Traders, travellers and cooks left traces that still live in its food, in the pepper, the bread and the gentle acidity of a curry.
We honour that history without turning it into a museum: the cooking is rooted in tradition, made fresh for the table in front of us.
This is more than dining. This is Malabar Coast.
